Getting into print

Years of experience in the field of bringing books from manuscript, through production and into print go into the service Jennie Renton offers to writers wishing to see their work in book form. Her approach is to keep the process straightforward, speedy and price competitive. With a professional background in editing, she concentrates on project management, book design and typesetting and can call in freelance editors and proofreaders if they are needed. Some examples of books brought into being at Main Point can be seen on this page.

EVERY SHADE OF BLUE

John Renbourn was one of the original members of Pentangle, the innovative folk group formed in the late 1960s. After the group split up John continued to tour, sometimes playing with other musicians such as Robin Williamson, Isaac Guillory and Wizz Jones, and sometimes accompanied by former Pentangle singer Jacqui McShee.

In the mid-90s, poet and travel writer Morelle Smith accompanied him in his journeys across the USA and Europe. Every Shade of Blue records their travels together.

A PATH TO THE STARS

A Path to the Stars: Journeys of Discovery in Hermetic Astrology, offers new insights into astrological thinking. Janet Saunders takes the perspective that as humans we are, literally, in two minds, an idea described in modern times by neuroscientist Iain McGilchrist and in the soft systems thinking of Jake Chapman.

Her book, based on her MA in Myth, Cosmology and the Sacred at Canterbury Christchurch University, is deeply influenced by the writing of the 15th century Florentine scholar Marsilio Ficino.
